Who Is This?

Following Jesus does not guarantee calm water. In Mark 4:35–41, the disciples obey Jesus and still find themselves caught in a life-threatening storm. As fear rises, they question whether Jesus cares—but one word from Him stills the wind and waves. The greater revelation is not simply that the storm becomes calm, but that Jesus is Lord over what they cannot control. Sometimes He calms the storm; sometimes He carries us through it. Either way, our confidence is not in the forecast but in the One who is with us.
