Not Ashamed of the Gospel

Jan 4, 2026    Pastor Brian Mitchell

The book of Romans is the apostle Paul’s clearest and most comprehensive explanation of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Writing to believers in Rome whom he had not yet met, Paul lays out how God saves sinners through faith in Christ, not by human effort or obedience to the law. Romans explains humanity’s need for

salvation, God’s provision through Jesus’ death and resurrection, and the righteousness God gives to all who believe—Jew and Gentile alike.

At the same time, Romans shows how the gospel shapes everyday life. Paul addresses how faith transforms relationships, obedience, suffering, and hope, calling believers to live as living sacrifices in response to God’s mercy. From beginning to end, Romans proclaims that salvation belongs to God and that the righteous live by faith, trusting God’s power to save, change, and sustain His people.
