But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8

On Pentecost Sunday, we reflect on the gift and work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and the church. This message explores three important questions: Who is the Holy Spirit? What does the Holy Spirit do? And why does the Holy Spirit still matter today? Through Scripture, we will see that the Holy Spirit is not merely a force or feeling, but the very presence of God dwelling within His people. The Spirit brings new life, empowers believers, produces spiritual fruit, and strengthens the church to live boldly for Christ. Pentecost reminds us that we were never meant to follow Jesus in our own strength — we were empowered by the Spirit.

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. "Suddenly, a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Acts 2:1-4

Big Idea: We were never meant to follow Jesus without the Holy Spirit.
