Good morning. Perhaps you’ve noticed, the world is a mess right now. We have the ongoing war in the Ukraine, and Russia’s citizens don’t seem happy either; Iran is in turmoil; Brazil is overthrowing their government; Afghanistan is back to full oppression of its people; China is facing revolution; North Korea is…the usual chaos and oppression; Islamic militants are slaughtering people by the thousands in various African countries; Myanmar is once again facing military takeover; Haiti is boiling over, again; Taiwan is facing a Chinese crackdown; Ethiopia is starving, and at war with itself; Yemen has been in a civil war for…a thousand years, but it is worse lately; Israel and Palestine continue to look for opportunities to kill each other; the list could go on and on. Even the USA seems filled with hatred and unrest.
If I were to make a list of the countries facing starvation and disease the list would be very long indeed.
God must have a lot on His mind. How can our Lord, the Prince of Peace, find any peace for Himself in a world so beset with violence and hatred? How could our God, who loves all people, not be overwhelmed when there is so much suffering?
Surely, with all of the problems, pain, and suffering occurring around this world, God couldn’t possibly want to hear one more complaint, no matter how great or small it might be.
If that is what you think, you are wrong.
In fact, we are commanded in this: Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
God has time for your needs. God has a heart for your needs. God has a love for you that is so amazing that He commands you to humbly lay everything that worries you on Him. Why? because he cares for you.As a loving Father cares about their child, He cares for you.
Do not hesitate, and do not be concerned that He has too much going on to hear you. God always has time, heart, and love for His children. He wants to lighten your load today, so give Him whatever is stressing you out today.
