His Glory 1-14-24

Good morning. I pray that your worship of our Lord in all of His fullness will be wonderful today. May your worship be sincere as you bring Him praise and may it be nourishing to your body and soul.

One powerful aspect of our Almighty God is His glory. There is the glory of the Father, the glory of the Son, and the glory that is expressed in the person of the Holy Spirit of God.

As we prepare for worship today, I would like to share one incredible verse of scripture. It is a verse that tells us much about Jesus and why He is worthy of worship. The verse is Hebrews 1:3:

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact expression of His nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

The glory of God the Father is awesome, of that there can be no doubt. Jesus is the radiance of His glory. When I read that I think of light, and of energy, and of power. Jesus is the visible power of God’s glory.

Jesus is the exact expression of His nature. God is love (1 John 4:7-8), that is His nature, and Jesus is the expression of God’s love for us.

We know from John 1:1-4 that Jesus is the creator, for in Him all things were created; without Him nothing was created that has been created. In this verse from the letter to the Hebrews we note that it is Jesus who is the power that sustains (upholds) the universe. Without Him, it all falls apart.

That same Jesus, the creator and sustainer of all that is created, this perfect expression of God, this radiance of God’s glory, that same awesome Jesus paid the price for our sins. He is the purification for sins. Our lives that were as filth in the presence of God are purified by His love and grace.

This Jesus, Immanuel-God who is with us; fully a man who was tempted but never fell; was hated but only loved; was murdered but who rose again; this Jesus, when His mission was completed, has sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. It is there in unity with God the Father that Jesus constantly advocates for us: We have one who speaks to the Father in our defense. 1 John 2:1

Bring your worship to the Lord today with joy and with wonder, all in the Name of Jesus. He is worthy!
