Good morning. God is for you. He is on your side. When you need encouragement, He is there, cheering you on. When you require help, He is there giving you needed strength. When you need insight, He is there with wisdom and understanding.
One of the truths of growing up in a very small town with a very small school was that if you were basically ambulatory you could play any sport you had an interest in. If you were 5’4” and interested in basketball, there was a place for you. If you weigh in at 155, aren’t particularly fast or coordinated, but you like football? Fine, “here are your pads and jersey, glad to have you on the team.”
Those statements were actually true of the little town of Nevis, MN and our school. If you wanted to show up and try your hardest, there was a place on the team for you. And if you were fortunate to have parents who were crazy enough to come out in the cold and cheer you on, well that made even those less talented try all the harder. There isn’t anything quite like having your own cheering section, even if you are losing the game.
Romans 8:31 tells us: What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
When God is on your side the score doesn’t matter, the pain is insignificant, the opponent is immaterial. When God is on your side, you are a winner.
Give praise today for the cheerleader who follows you through every contest every day. He is for you, so it doesn’t matter who or what you are up against.
