Good morning. In our worship at New Life Christian Church this morning our message will be from a series of messages called, “Words of Faith”. We are considering in these messages some important words which speak of spiritual truths. Today’s word for consideration is “Truth”. For our thought of the day this morning I would like to remind you that there are two truths which reign supreme over all of our thinking. They are:
1. There is only one true God.
2. I am not that one true God (a truth for us all).
How awesome, wonderful, powerful, amazing, majestic, loving, and wise is the Lord our God! Although that may be an impressive group of adjectives, and there should be more, but there are no words which could adequately describe Him.
None of those adjectives could be used for me, or for you. We may, at the best of times, slide up against such descriptions, but not fully and not for long. Consider as you prepare for worship today these words from Isaiah 40:25-28 which describe Him:
To whom then will you compare me,
that I should be like him? says the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes on high and see:
who created these?
He who brings out their host by number,
calling them all by name;
by the greatness of his might
and because he is strong in power,
not one is missing.
Why do you say, O Jacob,
and speak, O Israel,
“My way is hidden from the Lord,
and my right is disregarded by my God”?
Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
It is incredibly fitting that we worship and give glory and praise to our Heavenly Father, our Lord and our God. We know our place, even as we do our best to recognize Him.
He is worthy. May we worship well today as is right and fitting.
