Sharing Light 03-23-23

Good morning.

Rage, fierce and uncontrolled anger, won’t better our world, but sympathetic understanding will.

Bitterness will never lead to peace, but patience, forbearance, and love will.

Words of condemnation, especially when they are voiced in judgmental, “holier than you are” tones will cause fights, while suggestions of righteous alternatives may invite healing.

Is it possible that once we see the world (and see ourselves for what we truly are) doors may open for helping hands to be extended?

If Christians look upon the world with bitter frowns and rale against the encroaching darkness, doesn’t that darkness become even deeper?

If Christians look upon the darkness and see a world that is stumbling and lost, what can we do?

How about sharing the light?

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16

The light of Jesus is a light of love, of patience, of forgiveness, of understanding, of acceptance, of righteousness revealed.

Evil is never defeated when met with evil (Romans 12:21). Bigotry and racism will never be defeated with more of the same. Darkness is never defeated by increasing darkness. No, of course not. Darkness is defeated when light is shared.

This day, every day, let’s share the Light of the world, His light.
