Good morning. I hope that your life experience includes words of encouragement from a Godly father. I realize that not everyone was blessed in this way, but the encouraging words of earthly fathers are part of God’s design, just as are His encouraging words which come to us every day.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 are the key verses for our sermons in the first three weeks of June: Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4
It is God’s desire to bring each of us the encouragement, the compassion, and the comfort we need to find peace in every situation. As you prepare for worship today, please consider some wonderfully encouraging words from our Father:
…because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
“If my people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
I hope that you are going to enjoy a wonderful and blessed Father’s Day. I hope that your Father’s Day will include a time of worship and praise for our heavenly Father whose encouragement never ends and whose power, hope, and love are always ours.
