Good morning. I believe that knowledge, trust, and purpose are valuable enough to be worthy of the necessary effort to acquire each one.
There is a brief passage of scripture that is well known to many of us, and in fact for some of us it could be identified as our favorite passage to claim and to memorize. I am referring to Proverbs 3:5-6. Please consider with me today that favored passage as we find it in its more complete context of Proverbs 3:1-7
My son, do not forget my teaching,
but let your heart keep my commandments,
2 for length of days and years of life
and peace they will add to you. but let your heart keep my commandments,
2 for length of days and years of life
and peace they will add to you.
3 Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you;
bind them around your neck;
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 So you will find favor and good success
in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make straight your paths.
7 Be not wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
The gaining of knowledge, learning to trust God in all circumstances, and coming to recognize His greater purpose for our lives all seem to me to be referenced in those verses.
Please read those verses again, meditate on their truths, and prayerfully consider what they say to you about living your life with greater knowledge, about learning to trust and rely on your heavenly Father, and about living fully within God’s purpose.
