Good morning. God loves beauty. We know that to understand more about God and to be able to see insights into His glory we need only to gaze honestly upon His creation. (Romans 1:20) When you take a powerful telescope and look into the expanse of the universe you are struck by its beauty. When you take a microscope and study the complexity of a single living cell, you are struck by its beauty. When you look at an infant, tiny and pure, held in her mother’s arms, you are struck by her beauty. Whatever part or portion of creation, any part that isn’t remarkable due to the effects of sin, when you look at it or into it you see beauty. This is true because God loves beauty.
God loves beauty so much that He isn’t willing to allow ugliness to survive wherever He is invited in. Let Him live for long in a human heart, and that heart will begin to change.
Portraits of hurt will be replaced by landscapes of grace. Rags of shame and sin will be replaced by beautiful new robes of purity and honor. Walls broken down by anger and resentment will be replaced by those of love and with a peace that surpasses understanding. Crumbling blocks of doubt will be replaced with beautiful foundation stones of certain faith. God will not allow a life that has been ruined by ugly sins to remain, He will graciously renew that life with tenderness, compassion, and His precious beauty.
God’s desire is to step in and redecorate. He wants to restore beauty to the darkest corners of our souls.
David recognized God as the giver of beauty, and he longed to abide in that place of quiet grace.
Psalm 27:4 “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.”
Please look for beauty today, but even more than that, please allow God to provide beauty today. It is His desire, and you are worth His efforts.
