Community 10-01-23

Good morning. May God richly bless you throughout this day of worship and community. I know that for some worship within a fellowshipping body of believers is not possible, but please consider the place of Christian community within God’s plan for His people.

We were created for fellowship and community. At first, the greatest example of joyful fellowship and community was between Adam and Eve and the Lord our God. They walked with Him, talked with Him, and I would like to think of their laughing with Him as they found joy in the unspoiled creation. Then sin entered in and brokenness with it. Even though sin carried terrible consequences and conditions it did not alter the nature of who we are. We, mankind, are created in the image of God, and are created for fellowship and community.

There are situations in life and sometimes certain people that drain us of energy and hope. There are also people and situations that fill us up. Our worship and worship community are designed by God to replenish and fill us to overflowing. We need that help, we need that spiritual nourishment, we require that frequent blessing. Without it, we run dry.

Please consider the truths found in Colossians 3:15-17 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Together we are better. Together we are joyful. Together we are fulfilled. Together we are right in the Lord.
