Good morning. Does your self-esteem need a little attention from time to time? Would an “atta-boy” or “way to go girl” be a welcome note of affirmation? I think that it is true for all of us that we need to feel appreciated, we need some confirmation that we are on the right track and worthwhile.
The apostle Paul could have bragged about many things. He was, as he proclaimed in Philippians 3:1-14, someone who had far more reason than the average person to have “confidence in the flesh.” He was a Jew of Jews, an educated man and from a wealthy family who was politically connected and considered a rising star among Jewish leaders. He gave up all of that in the name of Jesus and insisted that in doing so he had come away with far greater value.
For today’s thought I would like to consider the words of Paul in Galatians 6:14
May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Do you need a thought of affirmation? Could you use some words of appreciation? Then please consider this: the maker of every star in the universe would rather give up heaven for a time, would prefer to endure the humiliation of the Creator becoming one with the created, and would rather die for you than live without you. That is a fact.
Atta boy, way to go girl, the Lord God Himself is head over heels in love with you.
