All You Truly Need 12-12-23

Good morning. Have you watched the Wizard of Oz? Not a cartoon or some modern version, I mean the old 1939 Judy Garland original. If so, you’ll easily follow these questions.

Do you ever feel that you are in a weird place surrounded by weird people?

Do the people around you ever seem brainless, spineless, and Heartless?

Do you ever feel that life is a quest, with a prize that is always just out of reach?

Do you ever feel like there is an evil enemy out to get you?

Do you ever wish you had a yellow brick road to guide you and take you where you need to be?

Do you ever yearn for home, that place of peace, and safety, and love?

The moral of the movie was that after all of her searching and adventures (I still hate those flying monkeys) the secret to finding what she desired was with her all along, and the prize that she longed for was the home she had previously come to regret. “There is no place like home.”

Relating to Dorothy’s experiences, consider Galatians 3:3 Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by the work of the flesh?

As for those around us, we may need to remember that they also must put up with us. Give some thought to Colossians 3:13  Bear with one another and if one has a complaint against another forgive each other, for just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

As for that Yellow Brick Road… Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6

There is no place like home, and We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.2 Corinthians 5:8

Greater is He that is in me than the one who is in this world. 1 John 4:4  Take that you flying monkeys!

God bless your journey today.
