Good morning. On the African plain there is an elephant. On the beast’s back there is a hair. You can’t see it, but it is there. There are thousands and thousands of parts and pieces of the elephant hidden inside. We can’t see those parts either, but they are there. There is dirt on the elephant’s feet, and something sticky near the end of its trunk. We can’t see those things, but along with a million other unseen bits, inside and out, they are there. And they are on the list.
What list? Glad you asked, because it is a marvelous list: For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. Colossians 1:16
You are on that list, and so am I. The tiny baby that just had its first heartbeat inside its mother’s womb, that baby is included. That elderly person who is breathing their final breath, yes, they are there. Nothing is too big, and nothing is too small to not be included on that list.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5
The Creator of all things came into this world as a part of Creation. Yes, He, as the baby who was carefully placed in the manger, is on the list. Incredible.
We should celebrate!
