12-3-23 God Alone

Good morning. It is hard for us to imagine such a thing as an absolute truth. Absolute means that it is without exception, without variance, without condition. This is such a truth: God is always right.

God is never wrong, and God has not and will not ever make the wrong decision.

God has never had anything but the right attitude and the most righteous of thoughts.

God has never taken the wrong path, has never been lost or delayed.

God has never said the wrong thing, has never regretted any word or thought.

God has never been too early, and God has never been late.

God has never been too loud or too quiet, is never too fast or too slow.

God has always been and will always be righteous and right in everything He says or does. There is no exception to that truth.

Daniel, in the midst of a prayer to the Lord, spoke of God’s perfection and of the obstinance of His people. God’s chosen people had rejected Him, turned their back on Him, refused to worship or to obey Him. In response, God did what was needed to get their attention and to bring them back to Himself. It was not easy, nor was it pleasant. God allowed the Babylonians to conquer His people and to destroy Jerusalem and His temple. We read this from Daniel’s prayer: Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth. The Lord did not hesitate to bring the disaster on us, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him. Daniel 9:13-14

The Lord did not hesitate in bringing harsh discipline, but He did so because it was what was needed for them. And God doesn’t make mistakes, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything he does.

There may be moments when we wonder, “Why God?” “Why me?” Why now?” The answer is this: God is not at fault and God is not in error. Whatever is happening is needed and will ultimately work to our blessing, ensuring that we are returned to the right path and headed once again towards eternity with Him. (Romans 8:28)

Praise God for all things. Give thanks with a grateful heart for all things. Trust in the One who is absolutely worthy of our trust, for He never makes a mistake and His love for you never wavers.
