Good morning. Our names are often given to us by our parents to honor a friend or loved one. Our family names are carried through generations and identify us with our ancestors. Usually, we don’t have much say in the matter.
The name of Jesus is lofty: Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
The name of Jesus carries His authority: And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, “By what power or by what name did you do this?” Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders, if we are being examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well. Acts 4:7-10
There is spiritual power and authority in His name. We read that Jesus sent out 70 disciples in His name: The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” Luke 10:17
There is godly presence and fellowship in His name: For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” Matthew 18:20
There is spiritual presence and assistance through His name: But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. John 14:26
Please consider today the privilege, the honor, the power, the authority, the opportunity, the peace, the presence, and the love that are yours in the name of Jesus.
In the name of Jesus, God bless you today!
