Pray With Me 10-15-23

Good morning. I pray that you will find the opportunity for worship today. Please, find the time to find the joy. Find the will to find the way. Find the hunger to find the feast. Worship well today.

One of the most important aspects of worship is coming together in prayer. There is something special in our private, quiet times of prayer. Just ourselves, cloistered away from the noise of the world for enough moments to lift up our prayers to our Father in heaven who loves us as His dear children. But there is also something special about coming together in prayer. Joining our hearts with that one voice leading in prayer to lift up to God the needs, the praises, the thanksgiving, everything that is on our heart today.

It is important that when we pray, we do not limit ourselves. I think that it is tempting (by that I mean that the thought comes from the enemy not from God) that our prayers are in some way limited by our own frailties. Is the power of prayer defined by the sinfulness of the one praying? Absolutely not! Is the strength of prayer diminished because the one who is praying is undeserving of the Father’s love, mercy, and grace? Absolutely not!

I have heard it said, and I wholeheartedly agree, that the substance and strength of prayer is not established by who we are, it is established by who He is.

A few scriptures to consider as we prepare for worship today:

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.” Philippians 4:6-7

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” 1 John 5:14

Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:19-20

May your worship today be lovely, and may your prayers be heart felt and focused on the One who loves you.
