Infinite 09-24-23

Good morning. The Merriam Webster dictionary defines the word infinite in this way: unlimited – whether by time, space, or quantity: boundlessness.

Jesus invites us to be His friends (John 15:15). How is it possible that the Creator of all that is, should desire your friendship or mine?  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5

Jesus is infinite, boundless, unmeasurable, beyond parameter. The little babe that was born to Mary in that stable, the one who grew up calling Joseph the carpenter dad and the God of heaven Father, created all that is. Through infinite power, infinite creativity, infinite purpose, infinite love, Jesus created.

He was in existence before creation. His glory is greater than all He created.

“I, the Lord, and the first, and I am the last, I am He.” Isaiah 41:4

“I am the alpha and the omega,” says the Lord God, “who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8

On this, our day of worship, our day to celebrate the Lord our God, please remember who it is that we worship. He is worthy. He is beyond time. He is beyond measure. He is beyond error or miscalculation. He is the alpha and the omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. His glory is limitless, and His love is boundless. He is infinite.

He, our infinite God, is your personal friend as well as your personal Savior.

 Worship well today.
