Words of Worship 07-02-2023

Good morning. I pray that you will enjoy wonderful, spirit led worship today.

Words are important. A recent thought for the day spoke about the power of words, “it only takes a spark to start a great fire”. For our thought on this day of worship I would like to suggest that the words of worship are especially important.

If you were in a job interview you would choose your words carefully. If you are in a conversation that could turn into an argument it would be wise to choose words carefully. If someone is going to ask their beloved to marry them, you can bet that the words expressed would be chosen with great care! The more important the occasion, the more critical it is to be careful with our words.

The words we choose to express ourselves as we bring worship to the Lord are worthy of careful consideration. Such as: words which share our thoughts of love for our Almighty God. Words that speak of thanksgiving and appreciation for His constant blessing and care. Words that remember and express His glory. Words that powerfully lift up our praise. Words that appropriately honor Him in His holiness and grandeur. Words that celebrate His grace. Words that acknowledge His presence. Words that express our needs and desires. Words that are shared by the angels of heaven: Holy! Holy! Holy! Is the Lord God Almighty!

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
    and his courts with praise;
    give thanks to him and praise his name.
  For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
    his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 100:4-5

As we worship today let’s think about the words of worship. Let’s find power in them and consider what they say about the glory and the goodness of our loving heavenly Father.

May our words of worship never be hollow or empty, and may they always be an expression of love and adoration to our amazing God.
