Good morning. As we prepare to worship today, I would like to guide our thoughts to considering His thoughts. It is a subject richly considered in scripture and after a bit of time away in the far North I am anxious for worship. But first, some scriptures that speak of the thoughts of God:
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
How great are Your works, O Lord! Your thoughts are very deep. Psalm 92:5
For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor? Romans 11:34
For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16
How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How vast is the sum of them! Psalm 139:17
O Lord, what is man, that You take knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that You think of him? Psalm 144:3
Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; there is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, they would be too numerous to count. Psalm 40:5
Our God is mighty. Our God is awesome in power. Our God’s thoughts are too vast, too, wonderful, too precious for our minds to fully comprehend. And yet, He loves us. His desire is to know us more, to hold us closer, to lift our joy, to ensure our eternity with Him.
Our God is worthy of worship and worthy of praise!
Worship well today.
