Good morning. I am writing this thought for the day a bit ahead of time because the forecast says that it may be impossible to travel for a day or two due to a severe winter storm. The prediction is that we may receive 20+ inches of snow in the next couple of days, although there also are some predictions for 30+ inches. Yikes! That would be a powerful storm.
Such thoughts brought to mind Psalm 46:1-7. This passage reminds us that God is greater, that He is our refuge and our strength in all times and situations.
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
There is no storm of life that is greater than the love of God. There will never be a situation that will see His love for us falter in any way.
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
That is a truth to meditate upon and to rejoice in!
