Boldly Go 12-06-22

Good morning. How do you imagine it will be when you come into the immediate presence of Almighty God? When Abraham recognized that it was God, he fell with his face to the ground in fear. That is typical. When Isaiah was confronted by the presence of God, he fell with his face to the ground crying that surely, he was going to die for He was in the presence of God. When John was given the opportunity to visit heaven while he still breathed air, he saw the heavenly Jesus. Again, we read that upon seeing Him John fell with his face to the ground and feared annihilation.

What about you? There will come a time when all, that means everyone from every age and nation, will come into the presence of their Creator.

Will you fall with your face to the ground in fear? Will you grovel for grace? Will you beg for another opportunity?

No. If you belong to Jesus Christ, the answer is no. Ephesians 3:11-12 tell us: This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord,in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.

Did you catch the amazing truth shared in these verses? It has always been God’s purpose and plan that our Lord Jesus would change everything for those who love Him. Rather than fear of the presence of God, we will come to Him in an incredible way. We will come in boldness and access with confidence through our faith in him.

With boldness and confidence, we will come to God. Amazing! As the apostle Paul wrote those words he was taken by their truth. In verses 14-21 he continues: For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being,so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Yes, in His presence we will bow, but not in terror. We will bow in amazement, in thanksgiving, and with joy. With bold confidence we will come to Him. All because of Jesus!
