Good morning. Consider a mother with her infant child. She tenderly holds her baby, the little one fusses and then begins to nurse. The mom has a look about her that is unique to mothers, and I believe it is true to mothers of every kind of creature. It is a look that shows love, but it is also a look that seems to describe a special relationship of peace. All is well when the little one needs their mom. And heaven help the one who should be perceived as a threat to that baby! (By the way, I don’t think there is an age limit involved in that past part.)
God loves those who need Him most. Jesus cares for those who are a part of that love.
John stood near the cross, and like the other disciples, he had failed his Lord. Jesus didn’t care about that, He challenged John to take care of His mom.
Mary Magdalene was a woman whose life had been defined by sin. Jesus didn’t shut her out, He forgave her, loved her, and accepted her love.
Thomas doubted, Peter argued, Saul (soon to be Paul) persecuted His beloved people. Jesus saw beyond those failures and loved each of them. Jesus saw beyond those failures and trusted them to be great workers in the Kingdom of God.
God loves those who need Him. If we are fussy, ornery, unreasonable, even unfaithful for a time, Jesus continues to care for us. Jesus continues to love us as we need Him.
The little infant in their mother’s arms may not be aware yet of their place in life. They do not yet realize that without their loving mom to watch over them and to take care of them they wouldn’t be able to survive. But their mother knows, their mother cares, their mother loves, and all is well.
So it is with God and you. Jesus cares, no matter what. God loves those who love Him, trust Him, and need Him.
Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
Praise God and thank you Lord Jesus!
