Good morning. Jesus, the Light of the world. Jesus, the Word of God incarnate, who is a lamp shining on our path that we will not misstep. Jesus, who will be the only light that is needed in heaven.
Please consider these scriptures about Jesus, our light:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-4
You, oh Word of God, are a lamp to my feet, the light upon my path. Psalm 119:105
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be theirs. There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will be their light. And they will reign with Him for ever and ever. Revelation 22:1-5
Jesus is our light. He is the light that shines on our paths throughout every day, and He will be the light of glory when we are with Him in the heavenly realm.
Jesus gives us His glorious and powerful light so that we can walk in faith with each step throughout every day.
Jesus is not our crystal ball. In fact, God’s promise to us assures us of the opposite in terms of our need for such a device. With a crystal ball we could see into the future. With a crystal ball we could make our own elaborate plans without God. With a crystal ball we could know when the Lord will return and be tempted to live destructive lives, counting on repentance in the nick of time. God did not promise a crystal ball, nor has He ever given one to His people. He loves us too much for that.
Jesus is our light. He is the light that shines on our paths throughout every day, and He will be the light of glory when we are with Him in the heavenly realm. Praise God that in His wisdom He has given us what we need not what we want!
