Come to Worship 7-3-22

Good morning. We join our spirits in worship as we bask in the presence of God. But as I mentioned a week ago in my Sunday morning thought, worship is not confined to a gathering, or a place, or a time. Worship is the reality of hearts released in joy as we come into the presence of God. David sings of the truth of God’s presence in Psalm 139:7-10

Where shall I go from your Spirit?
Or where shall I flee from your presence?
If I ascend to heaven, you are there!

If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!
If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
even there your hand shall lead me,
and your right hand shall hold me.

Today, as a part of our new Life Christian Church worship, I am going to begin a series of sermons which are all taken from the Book of Jonah. Jonah tried to run from God. He had in mind to go to the end of the known civilized world. But what Jonah learned is, you cannot run from the One who gave you feet. So, if you have it in your mind to do some running, make sure it is to the Lord, not away from Him.

There is no place without God. There is no place on earth, or in heaven for that matter, to avoid His presence. Where God is, there must be worship. It is the natural outcome of being in the presence of the Almighty.

If it is possible, I hope that you can join us at New Life Christian Church today for worship. But know this, wherever you are…God is there. Wherever God is…He is worthy of worship!
