Good morning, and praise God for a splendid day of worship!
The 40th Psalm is a Psalm that rejoices in the deliverance of God. When His people are lost, “mired in the bog” of life, facing a pit of destruction, this Psalm says:
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God. Psalm 40:3
In other words, when we are so up against the miseries of this life that seem to claim our day, God will come to the rescue. Not only will He come to bring us our needed help, God comes to us with joy, placing a new song in our mouths ready to bring joyful praise.
To end this song of deliverance, king David sang for all who seek the Lord and who love His salvation:
But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation
say continually, “Great is the Lord!”
As for me, I am poor and needy,
but the Lord takes thought for me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
do not delay, O my God!
May you seek the Lord today in worship. Seek Him with a joyful heart and with an expectation of blessing!
